Hand Annotation Light Instructor 2003 (HALI2003)
is Universal Serial Bus (USB) RISC type Micro-controller device.
The HALI2003 conforms to USB 1.5 Mbps specification, version
1.1. See USB specifications at
www.usb.org for more details. HALI2003 interfaces to any USB
compatible computer.HALI2003 draws its power from the USB host
computer.

HALI2003 confirms to Device Class
Definition for Human Interface Devices (HID) version 1.1 See HID
specifications at
www.usb.org for more details.
Once HALI2003 is connected to the USB host
computer will appear as an HID device in the system devices.
With the use of a licensed Software Development Kit (SDK) simple
command can be used to interface custom Biometrics applications
to HALI2003.
HALI2003 can be used in multiple Biometrics
and Identity Management Solutions (IMS) to improve the Applicant
user interface and the Operator. HALI2003 will bridge the
communication gap to visually instruct the applicant of which
finger to use during the fingerprint livescan capture step in
the enrollment or verification workflow. HALI2003 will track
the finger sequences of the operator with visual guidance to the
applicant.
HALI2003 SDK includes audio instruction in
multiple languages that can be selected by the operator or
automatically from a Machine Readable Travel Document (MRTD)
reader. The audio instruction tracks with the HALI2003 visual
instruction where to instruct the applicant to follow the light
and use the correct finger in the sequence during the selected
workflow. Utilization of NIST fingerprint quality check to
display score during fingerprint annotations.
